Contingency is a novel about a group of American scientists tasked by the federal government to research and develop unexplained advances in human evolution. We've learned we can do more. Similar to the advances in technology over the last few decades, these men have realized human beings can advance themselves organically as well. The trick? True belief. Some think we are getting closer to becoming gods, and others well, they think we might be gods already.
Once the cat is out of the bag and the General in charge of overseeing the compound realizes the scientists' potential for combat, a diabolical scheme is hatched. Action ensues from the first chapter as characters are revealed and their newfound abilities are explored. The huge cast of characters and events play out in real time as the fate of the free world hangs in the balance and the book keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Jake Cole
is an American author and screenwriter born in Fort Worth Texas. After moving to Los Angeles, he has worked in the entertainment industry as a writer and actor for the last decade. His production company "Green Jack Productions" has produced the hit web series "Lift Girl" which Jake wrote and directed as well as the critically acclaimed short film "Maybe Tonight". He now resides in Los Angeles California with his wife Melissa and their four children.
"I started writing 'Contingency' years ago. I've picked it up and put it down more times than I can count! A novel is so much different than a screenplay. There are many more hurdles an author has to jump through to get that story cohesively on paper. I decided to publish the book in a serialized format once I received the news that Amazon would be launching their own serialization platform.
